visiting Marblehead.

Marblehead is one of the old fishing-towns with character, formed by the needs of its earliest citisens. Now it's a nice and quiet place for tourists like me, with at least some of its history preserved in its buildings and narrow streets.

Minor signs of fishing-activities down in the harbor, but it is otherwise a place for pleasure-boats these days.

Marblehead is located north of Boston, and is well worth a visit.

A walk through some of the streats in Marblehead reveals an interesting mix of building styles.

The building above clearly wasn't built yesterday. It looks out of shape, but I'm not sure whether it was built that way or if time and weather have shaped it. We saw many buildings with odd shapes and old and new repairs, especially near the harbor area.
