some of the locals.

I may have a preference for 4-legged and (generally speaking) more intelligent creatures, and luckily I didn't have to go far since the ones above are all living in and around the house where I'm staying. We got along just fine.

From the top:
– “half-n-half” – the guinea pig,
– “(one eyed) Jack” – the old dog,
– “Teddy” – the cat.
Got it..?

glimpses.

A few glimpses from trips around in the Pearl River, NYS neighborhood the last week of my stay there.
– outside a school,
– in front of a small church.

a quiet place.

A nice place to relax, which may be the reason I didn't do much or strayed very far the last week of my stay in the US.

It has been nice to stay at Ron and Anne's place in Pearl River. They've created a real home here.

The house is one of the oldest in the area, and it definitely has character. I hope it will keep most of its style and character in the future, as no attempts on copying can really bring those old qualities back once they're gone.

Night photos may tell more about the atmosphere around this place than any photos taken during the day, so I've included a couple above.
