latest updates on www.gunlaug.no…
december 2007:
- More farm articles are up. More to come, and many future articles are already listed as “not ready” in the table of contents, just to keep the pressure up on the author – me.
- Another one of my more philosophical and “life in general” articles are up. It's touching on the subject of decision-making this time, and I am somewhat undecided on the issue.
- You can also check my november 2007 updates. Older updates are not recorded this way on-line, but updates are of course reflected in dates on each article-page.
testing new browsers…
Firefox 3.0b1 and Safari 3.0.4/win downloaded. Firefox looks ok, but Safari isn't impressing. More testing needed before I can judge any of them properly.
Opera 9.5beta is running the show here at the moment, and it is clearly a beta with the usual weaknesses. It is however delivering enough to justify some “behind the scene” upgrades on this site – CSS related mostly.
winter is definitely closing in…
No snow yet and temperatures hovering slightly above freezing. We have barely seen that white stuff, and to be honest: I don't miss it. Our dairy farm is otherwise running normal for the time of year, and the animals have thick fur coats already.
Our youngest calf – born
late october
mid november, is out there with the calves that was born last spring. It will need special food and
attention till it is at least 3 months old, but it is growing well and is learning fast from the older ones.
Expecting one more calf this year – a Jersey, around the 20th. After that it should be quiet on that front until early spring 2008.
We're gearing up for Christmas, without bothering too much about the commercial and decorative side of it. Our Norwegian nature may or may not provide us with the traditional scenary for the occasion, but it'll be Christmas on our farm no matter what.
We'd like to wish everyone everywhere God Jul, and if those linked-in translations don't fit then I'm sure you get the meaning anyway.
I'm now studying the improved possibilities for proper broadband connection to the
'net from our place, as it has been pretty limited (below 50Kb) the eleven years I have had
a connection. Maybe 2008 will allow me to work a bit faster and more efficient on the web. I don't
think my clients and connections around the world would mind all that much
Take care now, and surf safely.
sincerely
