…and other disturbances…

this looks and works better…

download: 9.77Mb/s, upload: 0.93Mb/s, ping: 52ms Nothing special about these speed test results, but they sure are better than what I'm used to.
Pity I can't get these results at home in Norway, where “download: 0.5Mb/s, upload: 0.05Mb/s” is the norm.

ping: 41ms, jitter: 1ms, packet loss: 0% This “quality rating” tells even more, as with these results I can actually get some on-line work done without constantly wasting time and losing data.
Back in Norway “ping: 3500ms(!), jitter: 50ms” and “packet-loss: 2%” is not uncommon, and it is all too often a lot worse or not working at all.

I'm certainly not complaining about weak internet connection where I am now, but I'm just visiting so it isn't a permanent solution to my connection problems. More on that another time.

so where…

I'll be staying in the Spring Hill area of Florida for most of the winter. Apart from having a better internet connection than I'm used to – which of course is important for a technocrat like me, the climate does wonders for my health – which matters even more.

So, I sign off for now in a positive mood, and hope to continue to write short reports that are equally positive in the months ahead.

rips…

All is good then, but it is a shame my author had to travel so far just to be able to write this.

a playground:

This site-section is a playground for future site development, and by definition a bit unstable.

For now I'll use it to list the latest site updates, and also for small notes about anything that I'd like to share with others without having to write full articles.
