happy new year and all that…
It is that time of year – again,
so it's time to say goodbye to the old year and hello to a new one. I did that last year too, but
I guess that was just a rehersal.
So I'll be seated by the fireplace and wish all good things for the new year, this year. I can't say “again” again, as the fireplace is totally new to me as of 2010. So some things do actually change from year to year, in addition to my age.
It is actually quite cold here in Florida now
– at least by night, so sitting by the fireplace makes sense in more than one way. My old bones don't like
low temperatures no matter where I am in the world, but at least there's no snow on the ground here in
Florida.
You know, the brown stuff on the ground outside my house that used to be grass and leaves, doesn't exactly look good. It sure is easier to walk on than half-a-meter of snow though.
So I'm not complaining, just stating the simple fact that it is good to be indoors in front of a fireplace when it is freezing cold outside. Those who want to go out into that when they don't have to, may do so – I most certainly won't!
permanent address…
You can see that I have signed off this “crossing into a new year” piece from another place than before. For those interested in such insignificant matters, the one below is now officially my permanent sign-off address in Florida. The one in Norway hasn't changed though, in case you wondered…
Strange thing to put in a sign-off address before finishing writing, but I am preparing this at the mentioned address and then I have to go – or rather drive – somewhere else to upload it. My internet connection is ordered but hasn't been set up yet, so for a few more days I can focus mostly on that fireplace.
Happy new year!
sincerely
